Adipose Tissue Stem Cell Therapy

Adipose tissue, commonly known as fat, contains an impressive array of regenerative cells known as the Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF). These specialized cells can be concentrated and separated from fat cells through mechanical separation and enzymatic isolation.  The stem cells are injected into the affected joints where they interact with your body to orchestrate healing responses that reduce inflammation, facilitate repair and replace damaged tissues.

The use of adipose tissue stem cells in treating joint osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pain has been reported in numerous clinical studies and shows promising results. These studies show that patients with knee osteoarthritis receiving a single injection of SVF reported up to a 40% reduction in pain after six and twelve months compared to a baseline. The reduction in pain was also associated with a significant improvement in knee function.

Adipose tissue Therapies uses state-of-the-art technology called a centrifuge to separate stromal vascular fraction (SVF) stem cells from fat.  It’s a complete closed loop system where there is no exposure to the air or mistakes in preparing the stem cells for injection. We are the only company in the United States approved to use the  device for the treatment of osteoarthritis in major joints….and more!

How It Works

ExtractionWater-assisted liposuction, an innovative, safe and gentle method commonly used for collecting fat during cosmetic procedures with minimal bruising is used to collect fat.

Stem Cell Isolation

The fat is collected in our system where the stem cells (stromal vascular fraction) are seperated from the fat in an automated, closed-loop, sterile system that minimizes the risk of infection, inflammation and the presence of impurities.

Activation

The stem cells are injected into the affected joint where the stem cells activate anti-inflammatory responses and interact with your body to orchestrate the healing responses that reduce inflammation, facilitate repair and replace damaged tissues.

Relief

Some patients experience pain relief shortly after their treatment. Significant pain relief is normally felt after two weeks, and the healing process continues with full benefits experienced after six to eight weeks.

Stem Cells can Treat:

  • Spinal injuries, neck pain and back pain
  • Knee, hip and shoulder pain
  • Elbow, hand, wrist and foot pain
  • Soft tissue injury (Tennis Elbow, Plantar Fasciitis) and more…

Amniotic Fluid Therapy

In recent years, scientists and physicians have discovered the tremendous benefits of Amniotic Fluid (AF) in treating pain and as an alternative to surgery. There are no living stem cells in amniotic fluid but it has an extensive array of other regenerative molecules and components contained in the fluid to enhance your body’s ability to repair itself.

Amniotic Fluid is donated by healthy, consenting mothers undergoing scheduled Caesarean sections. This donation does not affect the baby, the mother or the delivery process. After being donated, the fluid is processed, sterilized and frozen. The fluid is provided in this frozen state to best deliver active biologics at the time of treatment.

Amniotic Fluid is considered “immunologically privileged”, meaning that it does not elicit an immune reaction such as rejection. It can therefore be injected without the need to match blood types. AF contains more than 200 growth factors, collagens and proteins that stimulate healing and reduce inflammation.

How does Amniotic Fluid Therapy work?

InjectionA very small dose of amniotic fluid is injected into the affected area. Ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance is frequently used to ensure precise delivery.

ActivationThe injection activates over 200 growth factors, collagens and proteins that stimulate healing and reduce inflammation. The high concentration of hyaluronic acid in AF protects joints by providing cushioning and lubrication, and stimulating cell growth and blood vessel formation to promote healing and to slow chronic degeneration.

Relief

You’ll typically be able to resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure. Some localized soreness, redness and discomfort at the site of injection may be felt for a few days.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment that relieves pain by promoting long-lasting healing of musculoskeletal conditions.  By enhancing the body’s natural healing capacity, PRP therapy has been shown to lead to a more rapid, efficient and thorough restoration of tissues to a healthy state. Since PRP is prepared from your own blood, there is little to no concern of rejection or infection.

PRP consists of a concentrated solution of platelets, growth factors, signaling molecules and other proteins that play vital roles in orchestrating healing responses and tissue regeneration. To yield therapeutic benefits, a dose of over one billion platelets per mL of PRP is targeted, containing the key growth factors and other molecules necessary to accelerate and augment the healing and regeneration process.

Several recent studies and reviews have demonstrated PRP to be more effective than steroids or hyaluronic acid, the current, standard treatments for knee osteoarthritis.

A study in the American Journal of Sports Medicine revealed that patients with elbow tendinosis receiving PRP reported a 46% reduction in pain by week four, and an 81% reduction in pain after six months. At the study’s conclusion, 93% of patients were completely satisfied with their PRP treatment and had avoided surgery!

How Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy Works

ExtractionAfter identifying the tailored PRP solution needed to treat your pain, a blood sample is drawn and run through a centrifuge which separates the blood into its components.

Platelet ConcentrationPlasma, which contains the beneficial platelets, is collected and further refined, concentrating these vital platelets and healing molecules.

ActivationThe final, personalized PRP solution is then injected in the joint space or in soft tissues. Concentrated platelets and growth factors to stimulate and enhance the body’s healing response to treat acute injury, inflammation or chronic degenerative disease.

ReliefSome patients begin experiencing pain relief shortly after their first PRP injection. Significant pain relief is normally felt after two weeks, and the healing process continues with full benefits usually felt after six to eight weeks.
