How to Live Your Best Life | A Little Advice

Uncategorized No Comments

Everyone can use a little advice from time to time. Things can get a little confusing sometimes, and speaking to someone with more experience in the matters of life and lifestyle can help you work through what you are thinking and feeling, as well as sorting through what your best options are. We are here to help you make great choices so that you can live your life to the fullest without getting caught up in things that don’t really matter in the long run.

When you are young, the whole world is your oyster. You really can choose any path you want to take, and the options are endless. That can be overwhelming and even cause you to panic. Don’t worry! Just choose something and get started. If your choice is wrong, then you can change your direction. You won’t get stuck as long as you move forward.

When I was in my twenties, my dad noticed that I would question almost every move I made, which sometimes effectively rendered me paralyzed. I was so afraid I was going to make the wrong career choice, or wrong dating choice, or wrong financial choice, that I would just stay stuck and not move forward. One day he sat me down and gave me the best advice ever, and I am going to share it with you. Get ready to write this on your heart and burn it into your amazing brain.

Just do something.

That’s it. Just do something. Don’t get stuck trying to map out your entire life all at once. If you go down a career path and you are not happy, you are not stuck. You are never stuck. You will always have options as long as you have a good work ethic, good character and integrity, and are a joy to be around. The truth is, you can make a plan, and you do need some sort of plan, but you have no control over what the future may hold. That may seem frustrating to you right now, but think about it.

What fun would it be if life held no surprises? What if you could know everything that will happen to you? That would be too much to know in the first place, because life will bring you some disappointments and some sorrows. The great thing is, when those times come along, you will be given a special grace that will see you through. The greater news is that at some point you will be able to look back and see how those very disappointments were a part of the plan to get you where you needed to go. To get you to the good places. To take you to your best choices.

Life will also bring you joys beyond your wildest dreams. It would be a bummer if you couldn’t be surprised by all of those wonderful things that will come your way when the time is right. Be patient, and try to be fully present in the moment. In the now. Now is all you have, so don’t miss out on your present life by worrying about your future life. The future is just one step at a time. Day by day. Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t worry about the bigger things. It’s all good.

Make good choices.

When I say just do something, I am assuming that you intend to make good choices and life decisions, and move forward into positive territory. I’m not saying to just do what you want. I am not telling you to slack and not pursue your passions and dreams.  I am not telling you to be afraid of hard work, or that every choice you make will be your favorite. I am assuming that you want to make the right decisions that will lead you down the good path to a great and fulfilling life.

Make good choices in your day to day living. Choose friends who are uplifting and doing good things. Choose relationships that make you want to be a better person. Choose a dating relationship with someone who holds your same values and is the kind of person you would want to marry and raise a family with. Choose to maintain sexual purity until marriage so that you can fully give yourself to your forever love. Don’t bring them only a part of your heart. Choose to love and honor your parents and to be friends with your siblings. Choose to do your very best at everything you do. Choose to develop a relationship with God that will be the driving force of your life. He will make your path straight and your life full of great things.

Practice Kindness.

That was the second part of that conversation with my dad. That conversation has stuck with me like glue. I have practiced good choices and kindness for a long time now, and I will tell you those two things have never let me down. It’s not hard to be kind to people, even when they are unkind to you. I have made great choices in my life, and I have been blessed beyond measure with loving relationships, health, and all of my basic needs. I thank my parents for teaching me how to do that. I needed, and still need, their sage advice.

Practice kindness and seek ways to show compassion to others. The world is full of mean people, or just people who don’t really care. Be a caring, kind hearted person and try to make the world a better place for those around you. The joy will come back to you, every single time!
